Bessie’s Hill B&B is owned and run by Sarah and Ian Stuart, and situated in the Eskdalemuir valley, 2 miles from Samye Ling. We offer bed and breakfast accommodation for up to 4 guests: a twin room on the first floor, with an adjacent shared bathroom; and a double room on the ground floor, with bathroom on the same floor.
We can accommodate families and cyclists, walkers, motorbikers and have a secure bike shed, cleaning facility and can offer use of a washing machine and dryer. We can offer a packed lunch for your journey onwards or for a day out locally. Our guests have access to free wi-fi.
Breakfast ranges from cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, and fresh bread, to a full cooked breakfast. We cater for vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters, and can also offer dairy-free and gluten-free food, by prior arrangement.
We will take well-behaved dogs – please discuss this with us before booking. Our house is surrounded by livestock, and dogs must be kept on a lead and under control at all times. This is the responsibility of the dog’s owner.
We are located in the Scottish Borders, 20 minutes from the M74 at Lockerbie and 20 minutes from Langholm on the A7. Bessie’s Hill B&B is ideally situated for a visit or a course at Samye Ling Tibetan Buddhist Centre, or to explore the beautiful and little known Borders area. Check out the Reivers route, Merlin Trail, James Hogg’s Ettrick, Roman camps, or the ancient haunts of the pre Roman Selgovae people along the Esk on the Prehistoric Trail.
